GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
oneROOF Youth Services values its volunteers. They are remarkable people who give selflessly because they believe that “one youth on the street is one too many.” oneROOF Youth Services does not require volunteers to have specific experience in dealing with the youth we serve.
We are looking for individuals who believe in the power of a caring community, who can accept differences, who live up to their commitments and are 18 years of age or older.
Volunteers must be able to:
Be a support and/or role model to youth through action, words, and behaviour
Maintain a professional relationship with youth
Commit to a minimum of 8 months of volunteering in order to maintain consistency for the youth we support
Participate in a minimum of one shift per week (Flexibility will be considered) - Shifts can be between 2-5 hour increments depending on volunteer time requests.
Commit to training sessions before and during their volunteer opportunity with oneROOF Youth Services
Provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Criminal Record check
Shifts
Food Services: Monday - Friday 10:30am - 8:00pm Weekends - 10:00am – 8:00pm
SEE Program: Tues. - Fri. - 12:30pm - 4:00pm
Monday Food Delivery: 9:00am - 12:00pm
Youth Support: Daily 9:00am - 8:30pm (daily Drop-In, peer support, recreation & education programming, clothing and donation room, laundry etc.)
Scheduled Programs: Daily - 10:00am - 12:00pm and 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Front Office Assistant Coverage: 9:00am - 8:00pm (Saturday Sunday 9:00am – 8:00pm)
Attending to youth accessing services, COVID19 screening, assist to areas of essential service etc.
Store change4change: Tuesday - Saturday 9:45am- 5:15pm (Youth Support, assist in pricing, laundry, tagging, sorting and organizing store items, customer service)
Bike Repair and Woodworking Shop: Weekdays 1:00pm - 4:00pm

oneROOF Youth Services Volunteer Application Form
Please include two references and an updated resume in addition to the application. Potential volunteers will be asked to attend a screening interview, submit a police records check, attend orientation training, and sign a Volunteer Code of Ethics.
